Hi folks,
I have upgraded my diesel 740 to a 1992 saloon, diesel D24Tic 126K "very clean example" Im very happy with it and would like to look after it.
Where can i get my hands on a green book or a copy of one.

Thanks Brian, Cambs.

In days gone by I would have suggested taking your 30 quid along to the dealers and ordering one (like I did). Lately there have been offers on here to supply PDF copies electronically - I am sure that someone will come forward.

I got mine from Volvo. The part number is V97000164 and 2 years ago cost around ₤38. This is an engine manual only, so you might want to get a Haynes for other things. Other Volvo green books are available for transmission , brakes etc., but are not easy to find.
You will find a few threads on the site about the engine here and in the diesel section. If you are planning to look ater it and presuming it has previously been well looked after synthetic is recommended by many experts.

I don't think the green books are available from Volvo any more as I asked RUFE recently. They can be had from Volvotechinfo in USA but they only supply them for US models and won't ship to Europe. If you have a friendly US address you may be able to order them, but of course there may be differences from your UK car.
There are some docs on the the web, Russian & Polish websites but I've not seen any for diesel models.
Also there are the Mitchell CD's on ebay which I find hard to get along with.
All the best,
Ben

Some information can be found on http://www.k-jet.org

I cant see a specific green book for what you're after but there is a FAQ diesel section and the greenbook could be hidden somewhere in that.

Hi,
Have you any green books for other 940s? eg 1991 2.3 non-turbo or similar 740, which is pretty much the same?
Many thanks,
Ben

Hi volvo-express. I'm assuming someone has supplied you with a pdf copy. I would be grateful if you (or your supplier!) could forward me a copy. My Dad has asked if I would help him this summer with changing the cambelt on his 940 diesel estate (1992 I think). He had said he had the Haynes manual but needed a green book for the diesel engine, I assume this is it.... Thanks
