Default Park Assist - Not on google cars?

So I have tried to find information on this, but it appears to be a tricky subject to find reliable sources on.
Last year I had a MY23 XC60 Plus. Which I saw was in stock at my local dealer with very low miles. It had been a demonstrator, and one of the salesmen was using it as his daily.
It was nice, Thunder Grey, with blond interior.
I was really smitten with it when test driving and was too impatient to wait for an Ultimate.

Anyway, when I got it and started to test out certain features I was struggling to find the Park Assist feature, which I had seen was on these cars in my research, but not here.
I put it down to the fact that the cars I had seen it on being of the older Sensus variety and left it at that.

Anyway, a few months down the line, I was upset that I didn't have the glass roof and the blond interior was turning indigo from me getting in and out in jeans, so I flogged it.

I have just placed an order for an Ultimate/Ultra Dark in Vapour Grey, with charcoal interior (would have gone for the wool, but I imagine those seats would age poorly with stains and pilling, also. And they don't have massage function, which proves my suspicions about durability.)

Been doing more research into the park assist thing, and it appears not to be available on the google cars.
Admittedly I don't use it all too often on my BMW, but it is a cool party trick when you have new passengers in the car.

Anyone know why? It would appear the hardware is present, and the other autonomous features are included.
Is it likely to be rolled out in an update?

Just use the bumpers of the car in front and behind, easy

There is no Park Assist Pilot, as it was known, on the Google-based cars.

I've had it on both my XC60s but never used it. In my V40 days I tried it a couple of times; a neat, if slightly unnerving party trick, but too much of a faff for real-world use I felt.

I suspect the only people who know why its missing are Volvo, but my theory is that Volvo has found the transition from Sensus to Google rather harder than they anticipated, to the extent that 2.5 years on from the first Google-based cars, there are still features 'missing'.

Park Assist Pilot COULD be implemented as a software update but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it.

If the telematics are telling Volvo the majority do what you do then the feature will be removed. Why go to the expense of fitting a feature no one uses ?

I tried it once - realised it was a waste so never used it again. I reckoned that if you can’t park a car you shouldn’t be driving. 😎

I remember when they started making bumpers out of delicate plastic instead of heavy chromed steel and thinking "What sort of madness is this?" They should at least call them something else if they are going to continue this practice.
