Policy concerning posts by commercial organisations.

In line with guidelines by the Trading Standards Organisation, commercial organisations must not make claims about any of their products that cannot be supported by credible evidence. Such evidence must be the result of real and professional testing by accredited methods.

The method of testing must be clearly indicated, describing the equipment used and the real expected results that the software is likely to have on a car’s performance in a real world context. That evidence must be available for anyone to view, either by placing a link from the post or by making a statement in reply to a post.

The price of products (including VAT) must be clearly indicated with the evidence of the expected performance increase of each product.

If a member of a commercial organisation has made a claim in a post about a product or service that they provide and that claim is further questioned by others, then that organisation representative must reply fully and to the satisfaction of all who seek the information.

Commercial organisations must reply quickly to queries about their products and services in a straight forward manner that directly answers the question asked by a forum member.

On no account must commercial organisations provide reward to individuals who post on the VOC forums to gain a referral fee as a reward for promoting any commercial product.

Failure to comply fully with this directive could result in the withdrawal of access to posting on the forum for a specified or indefinite period.
