I would always go Bilsteins for any car I have, but unfortunately I can't do that with my current S60 as it has the 4C system.
If I could remove the 4C system I would but as it links to the safety systems it's not possible. |

Thank you everyone for your help and advise.
I have found the Bilsteins B4s for £150 for the two which is an acceptable price for me and from everyones advice it seems to be the more quality choice so will order these. Unfortunately due to the amount of posts I havent made on here yet I cant reply to private messages Again thank you all very much for your time and advise. |

I have 4C in mine. What kind of shocks can you replace the original with? Do they have to be 4C? |

4C shocks are Monroe made. Try Autodoc as they seem cheapest for these.

Let us know how the B4 feel. I for one tried several brands, from the cheap chinese Ebay one, to Sachs, Monroe and finally genuine. It's also a matter of how smooth are the roads - where I live it's more like pothole territory and hundreds of patches. Overall, I would only put genuine if it was to do it again, given the road surface, but I have to say that once I disassembled the original springs to install the struts, the front end of the car lifted by about 1.5 inch which affected the handling quite a deal. I'm now looking for a replacement spring that sits lower.

Does it make sense to measure wheel arch height before and after shock/strut replacement?
After reading more than one report of ride height change I know I'll be doing it. |
