140 front panel early-late differences?
Hi all, can anyone tell me the differences betwen the early (1968) and later front panels? The panel on my 1968 car is in the boot ready to be fitted but has had the holes for the front bumper irons elongated. Is it a panel from a later 140 that has been adapted to fit an early model?

The main changes came on the 71 model year with the introduction of the larger ‘cross flow’ radiator and air inlet under the bumper the 74 model had some changes as well for the bumper arms.

The panel I have has holes under the bumper for air flow to the radiator already, maybe it's not an original 1968 panel?

Mystery solved, I have a pair of front bumpers, one early one later. The early one has large triangular shaped bumper irons that need a larger hole than the later type, seems someone fitted a later front panel but elongated the bumper holes to suit the earlier bumpers.

In the 70's and 80's there were a lots of supersessions on the later front panels mainly due to the bumper holes. Have you checked the dimensions of your radiator especially the bolt hole distance and height just to make sure.
