D5 service kit
Looking at a genuine service kit for my D5. See below.
Are the items decent enough quality or is it best to use other branded oils/filters etc? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/192961893...mis&media=COPY

Read the description of what the "kit" includes NOT just look at picture. I fell foul of this,
Think these guys used to be Mill @ Newcastle...I always found the parts guys knowledgeable, helpful and usually price competitive. Cheers Bob

Yeh I read the description.
You get 6 litres of genuine Volvo oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air filer and a sump plug washer. For £135 delivered it seems reasonable, I was just unsure if the volvo oil and filters stacked up against the usual other branded options. I think I have used shell ultra for the last 2 services

Just ran a basket in euros with the discount they have on offer at the moment.
Shell ultra helix oil and all mann filters. £105 Incl VAT. So it's about £30 more for the genuine volvo stuff

I always get my service kits from them. Volvo branded is prob a bit dearer but I do think they are good quality

If blue boxes of joy are important, then that's a good deal.
Similar quality can be had for less without the BBOJ. Pays your money and all of that. |

I’ve used that eBay seller several times for similar servicing parts and found them reliable and decent value, plus much more convenient with their delivery than taking the time to travel to a local dealer even if they matched prices.
Would recommend

You can buy aftermarket parts from reputable brands, such as Mann for example, but they aren't always sold as kits and you sometimes have to buy the stuff individually. If you want convenience and to make sure that the parts will fit first time, buy from Volvo (just give them your reg number). I've used this eBay seller before... very good service and its a dealership that you're buying from (formerly known as Mill Volvo).
