Gracie's return to as New
2 weeks ago today we dropped her off at the restorers , today was the 1st chance to pop in and see progress .
I rec'd good and bad news in that the shell is really solid but the front windscreen surround will need a bit more work than 1st thought due to the way the leak developed . But overall there no major surprises . I will post more updates as they happen and eventually will be posting the final set of photos in the showroom section .

Looking good! I bet you got a fright when you saw her like that with the wings off and the screen out. The inner wings look good it has to be said. They should be able to fix the screen up though and do a proper job with hopefully no leaks in the future. Keep the pics coming.

Wow, what a job you have there.
Can't wait to see the end results, always amazes me. Good luck with her. S.

Hi the work is being done by a local firm called Classic Car Restorations , they have been in business for 21 yrs and restore all sorts of makes , models and ages . The work is not cheap but at the end will have an as new Volvo Amazon estate to the spec we are ordering .

good luck with it mate, looks like we are both doing exactly the same thing to our estates!
my shell doesnt look as solid,at this moment in time!! just noticed ur front seats have the headrests fitted, did you change them seats? or did they come with the car when new? my seats dont have an holes at the top of them to even fit headrests,i think they look better with them, plus they help yer neck from snapping in a crash!! looking forward to yer updates. |

when we first got the car it had ford fiesta front seats, we got these from amazon cars they were not the right ones but blue like the rest they come out of a later 2 door and are both passenger seats but simon wanted head rests and thes do the job, they are all going to be recovered in leather as part of the restro so by then you wont know the difference,

Jsut dropped off several panel bits for the restorer and he was saying that what we thought was primer is actually the original colour so us wanting her in a light blue rather than dark means we will actually be returning her to original colour .
