Stripped V70 XC available
Hi
I have nearly finished taking stuff off a 1997 V70 XC which I bought for the gearbox and all the other spares to keep my two cars on the road. The shell is pretty solid, considering its age. I have removed doors front wings, electrical stuff, both subframes etc etc. Its only really useful for someone with either a bent body or a badly rusted one to do a complete shell swap. I intend to weigh it in next week on either Tuesday or at the weekend so it occurred to me to ask here in case it would interest anyone instead. I am based in North Norfolk and could deliver within a few miles maybe? |

Hello
Might as well ask Is this FWD or AWD? What is the paint code? (on the VIN plate) Does it have a sunroof? Colour of interior plastic? Thanks Steve

The car was the V70 XC which was then renamed the XC70 a year later, the cross country version and it is four wheel drive. As its now all stripped, I don't suppose it matters really as I imagine that volvo made the body shell about to take either rear suspension system so if someone was interested in the shell to fit 2 wheel drive it would logically all mount up either way.
Its the silver one, I can find the colour code tomorrow if required. There was no sunroof on this model and the interior trim was the dark grey and black but the majority of it has been removed so again that is not such an issue. |

Hi Mark
OK thanks. On AWD models, so hopefully XC, there is a support bracket just to the rear of the rear doors. It is fairly heavy pressed steel and is used to lift the rear on AWDs (which have a heavy rear suspension subframe). It sits just forward of where the trailing arm links and bracket goes on FWDs. Do you have any drive shafts for the rear wheels? (Not the prop shaft). With a bit more time I may be able to think of more things that I could use. I will send you a PM with my contact details. Steve

I thought this was just a shell being offered before it gets weighed in.

Shell
Yes, that's the plan unfortunately. The vast majority of parts I have removed and want to keep. Will aim to get the shell on to my trailer before Tuesday and then hopefully weigh it in on either Tuesday or next Saturday unless someone does show interest in it obviously.
