Default Upper grille removal

2011 XC90 Exec D5

Hi guys

I live in the country and I had the misfortune to hit a Red Kite this morning as it was rising from a bit of road kill.

The kite came off second best but it has pushed the upper drivers side of the grille back "into" the bonnet

Nothing broken but I can't see how to remove the grille so I can put it back in straight.

Anyone got some diagrams/pictures to show me where the clips are please?

Cheers

Dave

It has clips around the edges, release them all and the grill comes out of the bonnet, towards the inside

Ah Ha !!

I was trying to pull it forward, out of the bonnet, away from the car.

Cheers

Er - this vid on You Tube seems to disagree https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WG57AwKQZtQ

All sorted - it comes out to the front, away from the car.

The three clips on the bottom edge of the grille are so hefty, and overlap the retainer by so much, that I couldn't believe they would come loose - but they did with a bit of gentle "assistance".

It didn't help that I was looking first at the smaller clips - which of course hold the chrome trim in place...

While the grille was off I noticed a code number for "mesh screen" or similar and wondered whether that was an option for Aus and other insect heavy places?

Anyway - All OK now - It's easy when you know how...

Cheers

Dave
