V50 Electrics : - volume control stopped workng.

Just got in the car and the volume is on minimum, the knob and steering controls won't work.
Last thing I did was take a cd out, earlier today, just put the ignition on ejected the cd and turned it off again.

Any ideas.

The exact same thing happened to me the other day, 3 days ago.

I went into town with radio on as normal and sound perfectly fine, got back in car to come home and got absolutely no sound and the knob wouldn't do anything. I could turn stereo on and off but the volume just wouldn't go up or down, the rest of the knobs and buttons on the console worked as they should. The volume button even when twisting wouldn't show the volume level (bars). Tried stereo on/off, ignition on/off, lock/unlock car but nothing worked.

I just turned the stereo off and left it as I was now on my way to the supermarket, stopped at tesco and done shopping (about 1hr) then when I got back in the car it worked perfect and hasn't faultered since.

I've had this a few times on my v50. Did anyone find a solution other than turning the ignition off & waiting a few mins?

when i turn radio off and sometime wont turn on! i been try take key out from ignition, and lock car then unlock nad thry again but nothing happened, and i leave lock car and abt half hour later, radio back working, it strange, i wondering why?

Mine did this ages ago too - fault never reoccurred.

Volume on Minimum, Channel shows Preset's work but no sound..

Factory supplied (I believe) unit.

I haven't tried the sat nav..I wonder if that's quiet too... (could be fun)
