2002 1.8 automatic-OIL?
Dear all, we've just bought a 2002 s40 1.8 automatic (petrol). A couple of things, firstly, any recommendations for which oil to use? secondly there is a button on the side of passenger/driver's seats which I can't work out, it doesn't seem to do anything, either they are both broken (unlikely) or I am being a dimwit (likely!) manual is in french so not much help. Also, is there anything specific to watch out for with this particular model? so far, really happy with it, its getting about 36 mpg combined which I reckon is pretty good for a petrol automatic. thanks in advance!!

Hi, welcome to the forum!
I cant understand what buttons you are asking for, but there always 2 buttons. One is S ( perfomance mode ) and one is W (winter mode). Perfomance mode is to use when you are need more perfomance from car. Basicly there is a "longer" 3rd gear, and it changes more rapidly. Winter mode is for driwing in winter conditions. It starts from 2nd gear to prevent wheel spining. Hope it helps. There is on this forum in general discussions thread owners manuals to almoust every volvo. |
