Default Help and advice please

Hi please can I have some advice re my 240. The MPG is about 18. From looking on here it seems that the injector seals need replacing, it has been suggested I spray wd40 on the seals and if the engine changes note they need changing, I have done this but nothing happened. I was wondering if the low MPG could be something else? It has just had its MOT and all was fine. She has done 70k and prior to me buying her she was unused for 2 years, the MPG seemed fine till about last December, I put some of the more better petrol in her (v power I think) and this problem started.
She is a 2 litre automatic with a k jet injection system.
I hope this all sounds ok, not too mechanically minded so excuse my ignorance.
Regards David

Thumbs up poor mpg

Could I suggest you remove the roof rack when not needed? It seems to make a considerable difference to my mpg when fitted,

regards, Richard.

I don't think so. I've always had a roof rack on my Volvos and always got good mpg.
I don't think the air resistance becomes significant until about 80 mph, and if you drive at 80 by definition you don't care about fuel consumption
