Thinking of Selling 240 GL Auto saloon
Hi and Happy new year to all!
I've not long bought this car but I feel my plans have changed and no longer require the 240. My plans were to turbo the 240, fit classic swede suspension and the sort, I even bought a 940 turbo as a doner car! But having driven the 940 for a couple of weeks, I feel that an estate is needed rather than a saloon. With the prices of decent 245's these days, I think I may be stuck with the 940 for a while. About the 240; It's a 1991 2ltr injection 4 speed auto 79k miles from new with old mot's electric windows heated seats cloth seats recent sachs super touring shocks Towbar fitted Service history 4 speed auto changes smooth and kick down works when needed Has all original service books etc Comes with standard steel wheels in pictures or can sell with viragos with pirelli p6's for the right price. As you can see the car has been well looked after. It does have a few small niggles from what I can remember the heater blower works on number 3 only, the rear heated screen works but the switch can be a bit temperamental, It does have a couple of small scratches and a couple of small touch ups. Overall it is a very very good example of a standard 240 that can be left as is, or a blank canvas for a turbo build - as my intention was! as for price, £1500 ono with standard wheels. £1750 ono with viragos Any questions drop me a message Note these photos are from when I bought the car before Xmas, I'll put some newer ones up with the viragos on later on. Forgot to add - MOT until March but I'm planning on getting a fresh MOT on it if a sale is agreed. |

Looks good. Obviously been looked after. A good car for someone and the price not unreasonable.

Many thanks to Dion for taking the time to answer my long list of questions and emailing some very clear and detailed additional pictures
The fact that it went through its MOT today without a single advisory and a comment from the inspector regarding how good it is speaks volumes I am looking forward to picking it up next weekend! Ive gone for the original steel wheels option Ian

After an interesting drive home the GL is now safe and sound on my driveway in Berkshire
Its smooth, tight and performed faultlessly on the 250 mile return trip from NW Wales A few things to attend to such as the sticking passenger door lock, slightly misaligned rear boot hinges and various bits of interior and exterior trim that are coming adrift etc. All to be expected on a 25 year old car The real bonus is the general absence of rust - even the rear arches are pretty much rust free, an increasingly rare occurrence with 240's Overall, I am happy with it and a big thanks to Dion for his hospitality Ian
