Wireless charger XC60

I’ve had a XC60 B5 since the end of November 22.

I’ve noticed that when I place my iPhone (or other iPhones) on the wireless charger it seems to be pot luck whether it charges or not. When it does it seems to be intermittently charging. I have tried the phones without their cases too but same thing. The icon does show on the centre display to indicate when it is charging.

Anyone else had this?

I think I am due a 3 month check form my dealer soon so will ask them but thought it was worth seeing if anyone else has had this issue.

This seems to be a common issue from my understanding, so much so that I even think Volvo stopped installing them for a while but looks like they are back in the current model Pricing and Specs. Maybe that was just an availability thing though rather than component issues.

However, saying that I have had no issues with the unit in mine charging my (or my wifes) Samsung phone's so maybe its an Apple compatibility thing?

Thanks. Have tried different models of iPhones all with the latest iOS but the same issue arises.

They are intermittent to say the least, although my iPhone 13 works 80% of the time

I have never had a problem with the wireless charger in my XC60 B5 MY22.
It has charged an iPhone 13, which is always in its case, without any issue and when I have the charger turned off from the Volvo software it responds as instructed. Pretty sure your Volvo dealer can scan for a malfunction if you need.

Been faultless for us on two Samsung phones though things get quite warm I think I might prefer just using a cable.

The phone obviously needs to be back down but also with the camera towards the back of the car as the charging input is ususlly located in the lower half of the phone. Works for me 100%.
The reason Volvo stopped fitting these devices for a time was due to supply problems.

Had my XC60 new in October 22 and until a week ago it would charge my iPhone 13 but now refuses to for no apparent reason. Checked all settings and turned the phone off and on etc but no joy. If anyone has any other idea how to sort this, I will be grateful.

Have you got another wireless charger to try or another phone to try on car wireless charger. This will decide whether problem has developed with car wireless charger or on your phone.
