Default V50 1.6D Hesitant in 2nd gear

My recently bought V50 1.6 drive starts and runs well but is sometimes hesitant in second gear. It struggles to pick-up unless I put my foot down.
I've had a full tank of premium diesel in it with a full dose of DPF cleaner.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Impossible to guess , it could be so many things . firstly make sure it has a new VOLVO fuel filter , It is important it is a Genuine Volvo it has a unique element .
You could have bought someone else's difficult problem However . It requires proper diagnosing but try the fuel filter first . I assume there are no warning messages ...

There are no warning lights or messages. I will check the fuel filter.

It should have a blue dot on top indicating it is the high capacity VOLVO one ... it could still be overdue for change though if the car hasn't been serviced properly ..
