engine mounts
Hi, my car is 2.5t, automatic, mileage about 80,000, I recently changed the mount under the crankshaft pulley and the mount on the top to steady the engine, Today i noticed the gearbox resting a rubber pad above the nearside lower suspension arm, would this be due to other faulty engine mounts, they look difficult to change due to poor access.
Regards Terry. |

Engine mounts are readily available from PFS. Make sure you change the torque mount between engine and gearbox as well as the main mounts.

To answer your question yes there are two large rubber mounts that the engine rests on. The front one is easy enough to change but you will need to make some room, the rear can be a bit of a pig as you need to raise the engine up having loosened the very one you replaced under the crankshaft pulley. There will be some ‘how tos’ on tgis forum if you do a search.
