Is only 5 miles from me thinking of having a look.

It looks a tidy motor, 'bogart', but rather optimistically priced in my opinion. Unless I'm hopelessly out-of-touch with current values, or they really have escalated significantly of late, I would put that at a £2 - 2.5K motor car, max. With 180K up and a tow-bar, it may also have worked hard for it's living. I'd like to know what it had towed - small camping trailer or large horse-box!

Have a look by all means. If you like the car, you could always try an offer, but I think you may well do better. Have you tried posting a wanted ad, either in these forums or elsewhere?

Regards, John.

I have to agree with John above. Some of the 80k mile cars are worth something. But I believe 2k would be a good thrive, 2.5k toppy.

For reference it’s been sale a while…

That's been for sale for a long time and is way overpriced for an automatic 180k mile car.

The mismatched budget tyres say to me it has been serviced on a tight budget.

That's not even a 1.5k car. Agree with Luke on the cheapo ditchfinders as well

I fully agree.

Looking at the MOT history the pattern from 2008, it's had the absolute minimum spent on it to get it through the MOT!

That's not even taking into account Oil/filter, servicing, cambelt and new cooling system, rad and hoses etc.

Tyres as you say budget. Body looks OK but not a 4k car.

My advice, I wouldn't even view. Find something lower mileage and less owners.

I am probably a bit out of touch not having had a 940 for, shall we say quite some time. I know the 180k is not a problem with proper regular servicing. What I found odd was to get it through the MOT it had the immediate faults done and the pitted rear brake discs but not the front ones, or was it just a different tester? I have not posted a wanted here, as generally look at for sales on here. Have posted a want in other places and get inundated with all sorts, lots not even the correct model.

Now here is another one that does look rather tasty but at a price.

I found the MOT history odd too. If my car had an MOT on any advisories I would get the work done. Strange to only do the MOT fail items throughout it's history of 5 owners.

The second car looks nice but the cambelt is due. As 5 years old. Green isn't my favourite colour for reselling but looks nice. There was a green 940 at the VOC and it looked a great colour. 5K is mad though. Make sure mileage is genuine and just hasn't recorded or clocks swapped. Check the MOT history. If straight passes then great. Has matching goodyear efficient grip tyres.

MOT history looks fine. You are right that cambelt due. Not sure on cost to use as a lever in price, but as you say I think price is somewhat high even though in good nick. And yes agree green would not be my top choice.

"Three enthusiast former owners"; the timing belt is due for replacement. Enthusiasts for/of what?
