Default Can't sell it, so gong to fix it! 6 speed geartronic.

Hi all

So I've had a half hearted attempt at selling my S60, but apart from the asshats who offer pennies or the ones that ask the questions that you've put all the answers to in the description already, I haven't had much luck.

So a brief recap if you haven't seen my previous posts. Last end of summer I paid £1600 to a fellow forum member for a rather stunning S60 D5 geartronic. It is spotless, has all the toys and like an excited idiot I jumped in feet first!

So it cut out 3 times.on the drive home (S Birmingham to Lincolnshire) but more worryingly the gearbox started changing with an almighty wallop, mainly 3-4 and t-6.

I've done a lot of.research into it and I'm 99.9% sure it's the valves playing up in the geabox.

It has the Asin Warner TF80 6 speed Geartronic box and I'm going to change the valves myself.

I can't seem to find any real info on doing it, there's loads on the older gearbox,

What I need to know, and this is mainly because I'm trying to scrimp on every penny, is where can i buy

A) cheaper oil (3309 I believe??) And how much will I require.

B) The sealant for the valve plate, do I have to use Volvo's own

Think.i have the valve body sorted but if anyone knows anywhere cheaper than £450 then please let me know.

And finally, am I forgetting anything

Thanks for any help.people

Wayne

I have read of plenty of AW 55-50 fixed with a valve body/solenoids, but I'm yet to have read about an AWTF-80 SC that has been fixed. Keep us updated and gl!

I had an S60 D5 with the TF80-sc once.

Same problem.

Changed the oil - no joy. Sticking valves were the problem, replacement the only option.

Or pay £2k and get it professionally refurbished with a 2yr 24k guarantee without so much as a splash of oil on your fair hands...

Change the oil before lashing out on parts!
My six speed used to crash gears and flare until I changed the oil, it keeps improving after 3k miles. I'm going to change it again in the summer.
Check out my posts for a reliable German eBay supplier for 3309.
I couldn't find cheaper.
