All the units are coded to the car only authorised dealers or repairers can do this kind of thing even if it were possible , and I doubt you will find any willing to risk this ... because when things go wrong who's going to pay the considerable cost of sorting it out ?

I have a '07 d5 XC90. Had leaking injectors, and after having the seals replaced and throttle body and EGR cleaned, it is hard to start and when it eventually decides it wants to, It'll idle nicely, but will suddenly cut out. Doesn't die off, just a sudden stop. Most mechanics around hear don't want anything to do with it and the nearest Volvo dealer is over 100km's away. ($$$$ in towing). When I can get it to start, it's blows a steady flow of light white smoke that smells like badly burning diesel. Any help would be amazing.

Smile g plugs

You might want to create a new post for your question, as this is on the end of one with 300+ replies...

Have you tried checking the glow plugs, pretty easy to check if you have a dvm.. also pretty easy to replace if you have some dud ones..

Looking for A kind member who has a code reader for a Volvo V70 2006 vintage.
I have 2 messages that keep coming up; ANTI SKID TEMPORARILY OFF
ANTI SKID SERVICE REQUIRED.
I am guessing it could be the SAS but would like some one to read it first to be on the safe side please. I live between Portsmouth and Southampton. Any takers please?

Kind Regards David L

Any chance you’d be able to help trying to diagnose a park assist issue on a ‘53 XC90?

I’m only in Northwich so could pop over whenever’s convenient 👍🏻

Anyone around Cambridge/St. Ives/Huntingdon area who's good at VIDA (and PC) who can help me figure out (and hopefully fix) what suddenly made my 2008 XC70 (D5 with Polestar) go like crap?

Happy to pay for your time - I have VIDA on an old PC laptop but it's driving me nuts (I'm a Mac guy).

PM would be great..

Christer

Looking for a VIDA/DICE reader in Kent (Folkestone) or West Sussex (Shoreham-by-sea) or somewhere in between.

My 2005 Volvo V70 D5 has had a few warnings pop up intermittently and a permanent warning "Engine Service Required"

My local garage has said they don't have the correct reader to provide a diagnostic.

Any help greatly received.

Hi,

I've tried to look on the map but it says the map is frozen.

Is anyone able to help please? The engine light has come on (continuously) on my 59 plate diesel C30, it has also started to puff out black smoke when I put my foot down or go up a hill. My normal garage keeps brushing me off saying its nothing to worry about but the light comes back on. He recently replaced the turbo pipe and mentioned "injector fluff" but when I went back this week he said the fault reading was something to do with the fuel pump and he'd never seen that fault before and suggested I run it. I cant afford for my car to blow up and leave me without. Is anyone able to tell me what the fault is and what the solution is please, I live in S21 area but work in Nottingham, more than happy to come to wherever someone may be. I'm not at all knowledgeable about cars and I feel that I'm being fobbed off by a mechanic who possibly feels he is doing me a favour by not wracking up bills, but I need my car to run and be safe and reliable.

thanks in advance.
Su
