Default Map update problem

After successfully updating my V90 map, I formatted the USB stick and then set about doing the same on my wife’s V40 (this hasn’t been done since we purchased the car in 2017). Anyway, I got an error message up saying the USB is unreadable. My Mrs is now very cross with me for ‘playing with her car’ as the Nav now is stuck on an updating screen. Any ideas?

So a small update. I reformatted the USB drive, downloaded the map again and this time it downloaded for approx 10 minutes before the error message came up. This is proving to be very frustrating.

Further update. Success. Won't be doing that again in a hurry

What size USB was it, and how did you format it?

That'll probably be the problem, the instructions say use a 32Gb drive formatted in FAT32. The OS probably can't recognise it
