V40 D3 2017 recall notices - advice request
Just had Service & MoT without issues but garage (not OEM dealer) provided print-out showing a variety of recalls that are relevant to my VIN.
Wanted to know whether any of you (more knowledgable) readers are able to provide advice or experience with these recalls. e.g. i) don't bother, they cause more issues as a result ii) yeah, just do it iii) "some other" 1. Code S10086 Mandatory claim "Soot Reducing SW (guessing that is Software) 2. Code P10085 Optional claim "DPF" (guessing this is diesel part. filter - replacement?) 3. Code P9603 Optional claim "QAI - GB only" (don't know/can't guess what this is) Many thanks. |

Generally recalls are only issued where there is a need, and I would always recommend having them done as they are all free of charge.
Things like the Soot Reduction SW can prevent EGR/cooler issues and if you don't have the recall done then any chance of a volvo goodwill contribution in the result of an issue will disappear. You can use the gov.uk website to check for outstanding recalls on your particular vehicle. https://www.gov.uk/check-vehicle-recall |
