Default s80 temp gauge reads hot

I have tried a new water temp sensor plugged into the loom and held against the
block, but the temp gauge still reads hot and the stop engine warning still comes on, what do i do next?

You need to start thinking about causes for overheating. Have you checked the coolant level and condition?

Smile s80 temp gauge reads hot update

Took the car to Fengate Auto's the gauge reads hot when unplugged, they put a 'box' on the sender connection and reset it and it is fine now.
