For that time, no problem. If the car has done many miles I would use it anyway.

No worries in fact if I was low I wouldn't hesitate to top off with 10w40 if that was all I had. Red light takes precedence. Depending on what spec sheets you read it can be very hard to spot any real difference between 0 and 5w30. I would ensure that my topping off oil had the same ACEA rating as the handbook and avoid mixing full, semi-syn and dino oils.
I still run 0W30 at 152k with no fuss and minimal consumption. T5s are a different kettle of fish to the diesels though.

i got a litre but only needed just over half a litre to get it back to top mark, so theres not much leeway in the full or empty, i remember when the dip stick was on the bottom marker it was empty, on mine theres a inch then bottom marker to which the car said it was empty but clearly wasnt

Is there any chance the dipstick was replaced? Some have for various reasons including getting the plastic handle broken while extracting an alternator.
I seem to remember that there are different lengths. It's probably nothing but half a litre from red light to full seems odd.
