Default Loose pipe in my head?

Bonjour,

I seem to remember reading about this a while ago, but cannot find what I am looking for, so here goes..I have my b20 head apart, everything out, just bare head left. When I pick it up I find that if I tip it to and fro, there is a ticking, clicking noise from within...I seem to remember that this is to do with
some sort of (coolant?) pipe inside having come loose. I want to take the head to a machine shop to get a valve job and exhaust seats cut, but don't want to find out they can't sort this out etc, can I do anything about it myself?
I cannot see anything loose..it's all a bit of a mystery to my small brain..is it to do with the pipe that runs to the thermostat? I can't think there's any other pipes in there...do I even need to worry about it?
Thanks oh Volvo gurus..
Dave

Just to set your mind at rest, there is a brass pipe running along inside the cylinder head with four holes aimed at the underside of the exhaust valve seats to help cool them ! ! the pipe is only supported at the front of the head so tends to rattle , its fitted behind one of the core plugs at the front below the thermostat housing , i would not worry about this at all
hope this helps you
