Default Speed Camera Notifications

I am just over 1 week in to my new XC90 and enjoying the experience, however I have noticed on several roads that I am only being warned of some of the speed cameras. I would say all cameras were notified on my previous BMW, whilst on the Volvo its only warning me for a limited number over the same stretch.
This lack of notification includes some of the yellow double cameras located at the side of motorway gantries. Roads so far are M25 and M20 where I have noticed this.
Can anyone throw any light on this or are you being notified of all Motorway speed cameras?
Just gathering peoples experience before I schedule a trip back to the dealer.

I get the feeling that the speed camera locations are part of the navigation map and therefore isn't as dynamic as other manufacturers offer and as such can't really be trusted.

You could (if you had smartphone integration) use Waze, or use more traditional methods of avoiding speed camera detection (or being forewarned of potentially dangerous locations where exceeding the speed limit is more dangerous than other locations).

Like driving within the limit?

You could always give driving at the speed limit a go?

Hahah please god no. Another motorist relying on notifications for speed cameras, that’s like a HGV driver relying on a driver device to prevent them from a bridge strike etc

Stay within the limit, use your eyes for good round observation and pre planning

Sorted

Why is it when someone asks a question you get spurious remarks that don’t address the original request. For all we know Ian may well be a careful and considerate driver, obeying all the rules of the road, using good observation and planning. If the technology is built into the car then you may as well make use of it, and if it is not working correctly then it needs fixing wether you rely on it or not.

To answer the original question. My experience is much the same, some cameras are registered, but not all. A stretch of the A1079 that I regularly drive has about 10 Average Speed Cameras in each direction, of these 2 are situated on a short stretch of dual carriageway, 1 on each side. The only cameras that flash up a warning on the display are the 2 on the dual carriageway, all the others don’t show up, although they are clearly shown on the navigation map, and all the options in Sensus are ticked. Why it registers some cameras and not others I have no idea.

Thank you for the reply.

As for others, I am retired, I am in no rush and stick within speed limits. But as I said, the car I just sold notified me on all speed cameras, the Volvo does not.
I simply asked if others have the same experience otherwise it might be an issue with my car.
Speeding or not, its a very useful warning/reminder to have in a car as is the speed limit recognition.

This was what I was hinting at. I use the road sign indicator and needle on my speedo to tell me that I'm going over the limit or not. The change isn't always picked up by the car, so I also keep an eye on speed signs (like we used to in the dark ages before speed sign recognition systems were invented).

From experience of using this system in the Volvo, the transitions between speed zones are usually picked up well and can be largely trusted. They're a lot more accurate than the speed camera locations.

My partner has a 2019 AA road atlas in her car with speed cameras indicated. I think that the Volvo map uses the same system.

I drive the northern section of the M25 all the time, my V90 with Sensus nav as opposed to the new google maps nav seems pretty reliable with location of the fixed cameras on the left side of the gantries.

What I also find however is that a lot of the now removed over lane cameras are also triggering alerts long after they have been replaced with Hadec3.
