Strut Brace for sale
Hey folks,
sold my old v40 today and the buyer didn't take the strut brace so I've listed it on ebay if any of you are interested. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1608402068...84.m1555.l2649 Thanks, Stuart. |

Not sure, can't remember what I paid for it either lol, open to offers above the listing price at whatever anyone thinks its worth but would like to see it out so you might grab it at a good price.

New ones listed quite frequently on eBay for around £30 delivered, from an Evo specialist in Lancaster, so the price of this is quite excessive indeed. (They usually bid up to £27 but not seen one on an auction for ages and that's plus P&P. Possible it's the same single strut brace that they keep relisting, of course.)
I'd offer £20 but that won't include delivery and I'm concerned about my insurance company telling me to do one.

I wouldn't count an extra 10 quid "quite excessive" as you say, at a guess I think I paid around £60 for it delivered. However, thankfully we live in a free market economy and hence you have the right not to bid on it if you so wish, I'm honestly not trying to rip people off by demanding an extra £10-20....

As for £30 for others, all I see on ebay is things that are pencil thin and don't even have correct holes to fit Volvo strut fixings (3 bolt).... |

But if you see ones around the same price for new then despite what someone paid for it, its only worth what someone will want to pay after trawling t'internet and judging new price vs 2nd hand.
However, quality does sometimes outweigh the odds.

There was a thread a while back for braces as a group buy and prices being talked about were in excess of £100 so like anything, there is a huge gulf between the cheapest and the most expensive due in no little part to quality of materials, workmanship and ultimately, strength and durability. I have genuine Evo braces front and rear and they do make the car far stiffer and greatly reduce flexing of the struts and aside from anything, help avoid excessive treadwear on the outside shoulder. |
