Default Need help- someone with Vida in Nottingham

Hi all

I have a 2.4 petrol non turbo 2000 S80 with 157000 miles. When the engine gets up to temperature, it suffers an intermittent rough idle and sometimes dies at tickover. When driving it’s absolutely fine; it’s just when idling it has the problem. As soon as the fan kicks in, the idle stabilises. This made me think it was a vacuum leak (a hot hose cooling down behind the fan) but I’ve replaced the two hoses coming out of the front of the intake manifold- the map hose, and the one that has something to do with the brakes (I think). All other hoses look just fine.

So now I’m thinking a failing o2 , map or maf sensor..or something else such as a coil pack.

But I don’t just want to start part swopping and hoped someone could read any codes.

I get no engine management light by the way.

Thanks in advance.

Shemtec is in Calverton. He can be difficult to contact but he has always helped me. https://www.facebook.com/shemtekautomotive
Failing that I have a VIDA set-up, unfortunately I've never used but I suspect we could learn. I'm in DN11 not far from Blyth services off the A1.

Edit which throttle position sensor does it have? Your symptoms do point to it.
