MAP sensor replacement 06 v70 d5 185bhp
Good day to all.
I'm troubleshooting a "engine system service required" demon which won't go away. Have come across a few threads that mention swapping out the MAP sensor. Fortunately I have an xc70 in the barn that I can take parts from. My question. The MAP sensor is on the intercooler, in a very awkward place. There is a torx screw on it, but it's obstructed by the headlight housing. Has anyone replaced the MAP without removing the intercooler? Is it possible to move in intercooler without total disassembly/removal? Any and all help much appreciated. with thanks |

Is it faulty though? you have 3 atmospheric pressure sensors on the car you need to read all 3 and compare values , they should all be VERY close. If you are guessing then change the sensor they were about £80 last time I changed one. That intercooler one is always the faulty one.

Thanks Clan, appreciate your help.
I'm getting ECM-135F Mass Air flow sensor - signal too high and ECM - 1600 Boost pressure sensor - Signal too high. Assuming those are the other two sensors you're talking about, would you agree that the MAP could be the issue? |

It looks klike what may be happening is that the boost sensor in the intercooler is indicating a different air flow for rpm/throttle position/tempeature to what the air mass meter is expecting I would change the boost sensor first if you cannot compare the three Atmospheric pressure sensor readings from the ECU.
