Question losing gas

Hi, I have a 1998 V70 2.5 auto. I recently had the a/c system re-gased and no leaks were detected. 5 weeks down the line and no a/c. Clearly there is a leak in the system. I am assuming that the aluminium pipes should not be leaking leaving the rubber joints which may have perished. I dont know anything about the a/c system so would very much appreciate advise as to what parts usually spring leaks. many thanks

Usually the condenser/dryer but.....if you want to find out for sure before throwing needless parts on then you need a a/c specialist to put some dye in and then he'll see where it's leaking from
If it's the accumulator then it's dash off job........few more ££ unless you can do it yourself.......could be anywhere

No a/c doesn't automatically mean a leaking system and no gas.

Sorry my mistake.....I think the condenser/ dryer / accumulator are the same part.....it's the evaporator under the dash, behind the glove box.

Was the a/c working ok after the re-gas ?

I'd be inclined to take it back where you had it done an ask them to check it.
If it's still fully charged up to pressure then as Ches said it could be something else. but if it's gone right down then you have a leak.
Had mine done year after year and never a leak detected...till I had a guy put dye in and looked at the system through some special (can't remember what) glasses and a torch with a special lens on it...........both evaporator and accumulator had become porous (leaking).

The accumulator/dryer is a separate item to the condenser and is bad for going porous on them.
But thankfully cheap to replace if this is faulty.
