I would be fussy with regard to where your recording your EGT's from Russ, check out thermal dynamics, computer generated images as it might give you a clue if your having problems.

You could also post your readings be they post or pre turbine mate as regardless of BHP/Torque figures the max temps will be the same if your using known metallurgy tech

1000 deg C is not out of the question............

Hi Gary

No problems for me i was just interested in seeing what other figures people have got for there Volvos.
The highest temp i have seen after quite a few hard runs at 2.5 bar on a track is 800 deg C my sensor is in the front pipe v close to the turbo

Russ

Russell, the point has been made about the positioning of the sensor. Your question needs to be much more specific as you may as well ask if anybody has a piece of string and how long it is. Is it inlet temperatures that you are interested in or exhaust temperatures, or have I got this wrong? What are your exhaust back pressure readings?

Careful IC or you might be seen to hate Russ and the peril.

Russ What temperature are you actually after?

Pre turbo temp or post turbo temp do you also have a required RPM you would like the temp to be taken?

Funny i thought i had said where my sensor is placed maybe a picture would be better for some to understand

The question i asked was if others have a EGT sensor which i would take to mean ''exhaust gas temperature'' lets leave the exhaust back pressure reading for now it would be nice to see what temps people get from standard manifolds........

I would guess post turbo temp as thats where my sensor is i thought some of the current Voc track experts would have such things as its an important tool.....

I am just interested to see what others have got from there volvos no drama as i am v happy with mine
