Had the AC regassed on my T5 earlier in the week as it had stopped cooling and was “gurgling” when switched on. It’s been 2.5 years since the last time (after it lunched its compressor) so not too bad.

Also last week some wideboy in a merc e-class ran into the back of it as I stopped for a crossing… as I have a towbar… guess who came off worse.

I began thinking about my course of action to alleviate the water in my left headlight assembly. The car sat 30 days nose downhill whilst I had a hip replaced. Do I need to remove the thing, open it up \, dry and reseal it?

It's badly peeled on the outside so complete reworking or even replacement might be in order.

The right side was replaced as part of a deer strike repair. They're such pretty animals...until you hit one with your car.

Don't worry about water in the headlight.

It's just identifying as a flood light.

Steering was making a funny noise / didn't feel right.

Power steering fluid seems to have a made a break for it.

Hoping that it's just that the hose clip wasn't put on tightly when the garage replaced the reservoir.

Mine was full of water when I bought the car 3yrs ago. I bought a small glass drill and drilled a hole in the bottom corner of the headlamp. It's so small you struggle to see it and I haven't had a problem since. The lamp never fogs up.

Installed a new rear wiper motor today as the old one was FUBAR. New Bosch blades for the front screen as well.

I've been doing a lot of work since I bought my XC70 back in July: rear drop links, drivebelt & tensioner, front discs, pads and calipers, lower engine mount and gearbox torque mount, oil change, set of tyres and cambelt (paid to get these done) and a few other bits and bobs.

Today was an easy day!

Default Spark plugs

Decided it was time to change the spark plugs on the 200 V70 R.

Old ones were NGK and shorter than the ones I bought to replace them (30751806).

Had triple checked that it was the correct part # from vida but still a little troubled by the 19mm vs 26mm plug.
Spark plug kit 1.00 30751806
B5254T4, B5244T4/T5

Spark plug kit 1.00 8692071
EXC B5254T4 B5244T4/T5
where DICE + VIDA say its definitely a B5254T4 engine.

Installed the timing relay for the Blis retrofit.
Also put the buttons in the original position on the mid-console.

I am intrigued by this - have you made a post about what you've done re: BLIS?
