Haldex filter + oil changed. It had hardly any oil in it and what was there was nasty.

Rear diff has a leak and probably needs a top up as does the bevel gear but I hadn't bought the oil.

Poly bushes not fitted as KwikFit mangled my locking wheel nut so the wheels couldn't come off.

Good ol' kwik fit eh what did they do, use the rattle gun on them. This is why I watch tyre guys like a hawk

Mine was supplied with two keys and neither fitted so I just banged on a slightly oversized socket to get them off. Kinda made me realise how pointless locking nuts are tbh. Still put new ones on though I suppose it's a visual deterrent at least

I wasn't too heartbroken to discover our V70 had no locking wheel nuts, having TWICE managed to drive off with the key still in the bolt on our previous BMW. Besides, our car has its own deterrent as the garage we bought it from unexpectedly replaced all 4 tyres when they were flagged as advisories. They put Chinese tyres on, which was a pity, as I'd have preferred to pay the extra for a more familiar brand.

Exactly that.

Mine have a rotating metal collar around them which I assume is to stop you being able to hammer a socket on.

You don't happen to have the old keys still? Too much to hope they might fit mine?

nah sorry I ditched them..

those ones do offer extra protection I guess but then more of a pain when this happens.

you could try tidying up the key with a dremel and hoping you can get it to fit? have a good look at where the damage is and try to remove the rolled over edges?

we did try that on mine first but no luck and to be honest I got bored of faffing about and resorted to the socket and club hammer method

Since keyed (aka locking) wheel lugs has come up I'd like to offer my suggestion.

Apply anti-seize (some of you call it 'copper-slip') to the keyed bolt. I've been doing this on the one car I service with them.
Don't tell anyone, but I do unde-rtorque the keyed bolt some. I can't help it because the horror stories of these puppies fighting back are so bad.

same here, I never do them up as tight as the proper bolts, just a light press with the bar

Not just me then - the horror stories are bad enough if you've the right tools close by at home - but beside the road without any roadside assistance or recovery insurance would be a nightmare.

I also carry two of the Mcgard keys as there are so many stories of them breaking.

Hopefully got the xc’s swirl flaps operating, arm was broken, got a new one and found the flap end has no ball joint.
Cut and modified a bolt to fit, made a sleeve to center the arm.
Found it much easier with the actuator unbolted, with my Jules pressing the throttle pedal it all seems good. 😁

Yesterday I changed the fuel injector plug on my 2006 V70 D5 185.
Was getting a misfire & "injector 2 open circuit" fault code.
New plug fixed it.
Co-incidentally, I had an identical problem on my last V70, in both cases on cylinder 2.
