20mm hub centric spacers on now. Sits a lot better I think with only a slight rub if you throw the car into a corner quite aggressively. I’ve ordered a thicker rear anti roll bar so that should help with body roll.

Spacers work very well on the rear as the track is 2" narrower at the back than the front on all 240s. Rear spacers square the motor car up the way it probably should have always been.

I'm guessing the rubbing is at the front of your motor car? I'm not sure it would be a good idea to run any motor car with a chance of the body making contact with the tyres, however remote. I'm in no way criticising you Tonto, it is entirely up to you what you do with your motor car.

That should be it till it goes to classic Swede for the turbo conversion mid year. Also ordered a V70R front brake kit as well so some nice 330mm discs up front for the new power coming. I’ll fit them before it goes away. Hence the 18’s a few have some gripes on the 240 U.K. Facebook page but you can’t get that size disc in a 15 inch wheel so hey ho.
Great example of a 240 Tonto - paintwork and interior looks sublime. Did it need any major work when you purchased it?

Nice to see the mods taking shape too. Fulfilling those deep and meaningful desires! I like it. Love the passion.

I've always wanted to do this on a 2 series but as I'm not good with DIY, the foreseeable costs to get it done by someone else have put me off. I see you mention Swede Speed - is this a well known tuning company? What work will they be doing and is there an estimate for the full works? What gearbox and engine will they use and do they source them 2nd hand for you? will the ECU also match the new engine? Will it be a performance stock engine or tuned?

Aside from the brakes and wheels, what works do you plan to do outside of Swede Speed i.e. yourself or via personal mechanic? Now you have the wheels, interior & suspension done - maybe the exhaust and air intake?

I'm loving learning about this - you may just be tempting me to initiate a similar project. I'm so excited to continue reading about your progress. It would be ace to meet up once done. I'd be keen to see how it drives once finished. Maybe we could swap cars for a short Volvo fun drive Lets see if your exhaust turns out to be bigger than mine haha. I'm based in Solihull, near B'ham.

Hey bud, it’s only the rear that rubs slightly. Mainly due to the wider wheels and tyre choice but the rubbing although very minimal is temporary as I have coilovers to go on and an upgrade rear anti roll bar. It will have a similar stance to the volvo 240 touring cars in the 80’s when done.
