I also have this problem, but nowhere near as bad as others, it seems.

I wonder whether it is anything to do with the arm exerting too much pressure on the windscreen at that point? For me it is just above where the arm attaches to the blade, so I guess it is at the point where the pressure on the windscreen is greatest. If there was a way of lessening the pressure from the arm maybe that would fix it. Of course with less pressure the wiper might not then clean sufficiently at the ends!

I bought my V60 used from a Volvo dealer with working wiper blades, but in the run up to winter I bought some new Volvo blades. A couple of months later I got the same smearing you describe and kept emptying the washer bottle. No good Despite cleaning and refitting.

Solution for me:- I put the old Bosch aeroblades back on that i kept in the new Volvo box.

No problems since. I think you can still buy a single Bosch blade rather than a pair - got to be worth a go if you've tried everything else?
Just thought I'd 're-post this - as if it works for others, it's a cheap solution to a very annoying problem.

I wish I'd joined the forum earlier - my V60 has done this since day one. Every service it's had I've requested new wiper blades, which made a difference for a week or so, then back to normal. I'll be trying the fix, after I've spoken to the dealer tomorrow when it's in for another service.

I am glad this is getting a response - it NEEDS sorting....
Interesting comment about possibly exerting too much pressure at the centre.... In fairly heavy rain I noticed that the affected "bit" appeared to be being "pushed" up the screen before flipping over to become a trailing edge as it should be - crude pic attached on the up stroke ..... it is difficult to capture!
The strange thing is that I would have thought this would cause a problem on the up stroke but it doesnt, only on the down .... and the blade IS trailing on the down stroke

Regarding Bosch blades.... I am and have always been a fan of Bosch wipers, especially the aero ones .... but my car is a 2022 model that has a series of small holes in the arm itself that form the washer "jets".....do Bosch do one for that? and if so could anyone advise the part numbers please

Although not the answer I am immediately looking for, if they work I will happily buy them to give me a clear screen

thanks.... yes I saw those https://www.buycarparts.co.uk/valeo/13774266 .... nearly £60 for a set is an insanely high amount and quite a risk......
and this link https://www.onlinecarparts.co.uk/val...AaAi5NEALw_wcB says it is for left hand drive vehicles....so the spoilers will be the wrong way round

edit... so does the first link
