Remote central locking thingy.

Hello,

I have just bought a '94 850 T5. It doesn't have a central locking key fob press thingy. Is it supposed to? If so, where can I get one from? Will it cost and arm and two legs from a Volvo main dealer?

A chum of mine (I have no reason to doubt) said it has the sensor pre installed in the car, it just needs a fob. Any ideas?

My Dad and I both fitted remote central locking to our '93 850s, which were otherwise only operated by the key. It was surprisingly cheap to do for a volvo accessory - about £50 I seem to remember. I think the sensor unit was fitted behind a trim panel in the boot.

Cheers all,

I looked on the Ebay link, it appears that they were only selling replacement buttons for the blipper. I've contacted a main dealer (!) and they're quoting £54. Not too bad, I'll just go with that.

Very good site indeed. No doubt I'll be raising more questions as bits fall off/noises happen/car stops working etc!..
