He was having trouble getting above 190mph so on that run he decided to take the rear spoiler off to help with the top speed. The result= much better top speed, side effect= no stability at high speed.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing

Ah!! It all makes sense now. That's why Volvo engines are so well built. LOL

George, talking Ferrari and racing etc. you might want to have a word with Jules (back door pistonheads ) and Wobbly (I'm not welcome anywhere else except VCPUK ) as they might be racing at Marham

The track days at RAF Marham are all about having fun with your car whilst being safe. We are very proud of our 100% safety record and people that have been here before have always commented on how well run the days have been.

There's nothing worse than having to drive defensively on a track fearing that your car may be damaged by another driver that is not playing by the rules.

Here at Marham we run a very relaxed event and as long as it is safe then we let you do pretty much what ever you want. We treat everyone equally and the pre and post event banter and chat is all part of the fun.

We brief everyone on the day as to what we expect and it's after that brief that we expect people to respect other drivers. No one is judged before the event and as long as they play by the rules on the day then we all go away having had a good drive.

We have a 30 strong team watching the track at all times to make the event safe. Also we have people in the pits to listen to any suggestions.

The main aim here is to have a relaxed track day. I want people to feel that they can let go and really push the car. The track is so wide and long that there is plenty of room to push and even if it goes wrong as long as you've stuck to the rules then you'll just spin onto the grass and rejoin.

On some sections of the track and at some times of the day you can have 2 miles of track all to yourself. This is the time to go mad so as we always say on the pre-drive brief, take your time and spread out and be safe.

The best thing for people to do is go onto forums like piston heads and the previous Marham threads on this site to see what other people have said.

A word of warning though,,,,, Once you've tracked here your hooked!!!

Cheers

George
