Default "A" pillar Gauge Pods

Hi,

Looking to get a decent quality "A" pillar pod but not seen that many of a reasonable quality.

Any hints or tips for a decent one?

I do remember someone posting up about building their own but can't find the topic for the life of me..

Thanks for suggestions..

Depends whether you want a single or triple.

However, if it is just a single pod,Halfords make one which includes rubber O rings to hold the gauge in place.

Alternatively,TIM gauges sell one which doesnt have the O rings, but PTFE plumbing tape will do.

This is probably not what you are looking for at all,but there you are..

i think it would involve getting an expendable pillar trim. 3 blocks of wood of the size you fancy for your gauge housing. glue these to your expendable one. paint the lot of it in primer and polish it right up. then paint it right up in a mould release agent like pva glue.

lay a load of glass fibre on it and when its dry, crack it off. then paint the inside of the mould in pva glue

then lay up the glass fibre in that

crack that off et voila

ready to paint gauge pod

I purchased a 2 pod one, removed the trim from the A pillar and cut the pod to fit. Worked pretty well.

Yes 1st Raven, it probably would.

The problem that I can see is that the Volvo A pillar is fairly flat, and the the pillar pods are curved.

Doesnt anyone realise that older Volvo owners want gauges too?
