"940 se auto electrical fault"
hope someone can help i have a problem with my interior lights wiring they stay on with all the doors shut. i've tested all the door switches (ok) the boot light has a blue/grey wire commoned to the black/white wire which isn't shown on any wiring diagrams ??? all the door edge lights work ok on the day of detection the battery had been killed, when the new battery was fitted and the above fault detected the radio had also ceased to function dispite having 12 v at both fuse 5 and 14 as shown behind the ash tray but the wiring diagram shows connection to fuse 33 and 18, there is no fues 33. also fuse 26 on the board states audio but appears to connect to busbar 30 in the fuse box which connect to the interior lights ....... connection ??????? |

RE: "940 se auto electrical fault"
sorry i should have added that both interior lights are on constantly which shouldn't be possible according to the wiring diagram unless this is what the blue/grey wire does.
Both the lihgt fitting are in an undamaged condition and go off in the central position. |

RE: "940 se auto electrical fault"
sorry again but another piece of important information seems to have slipped from the other postings : 1992 model estate . also the wiring diagrams in the haynes manual appear to be for 1991 models only hence fuse no confusion however fuse 5 does supply both interior lights and permanent supply to radio so this is still a common point and i dont know whether busbar 30 only applies to the 1991 model ???

RE: "940 se auto electrical fault"
Just remove the blue/grey wire and find out where it goes to. Once you have found the other end remove the wire completely. It seems like a quick fix for a fault that someone has tried previously. The most it can do is put the original fault back. I wouldn't mind betting that the blue/grey wire goes to earth. All the best, Peter. |
