Default V40 1998 T4 Electrical problems - cruise control, doorswitch

Hello.

I bought recently a 1998 V40 T4.

The cruise control and door switches worked when I bought the car, but when driving home, 50km later the cruise control stopped working and hasn't worked since.

Also, same night I noticed the interior lights don't light up when the front doors are opened, but work when rear doors are opened. They worked when I bought the car.

This far I've checked fuses, tried to fiddle with connectors, checked clutch and brake pedal switches that are both fine.

Could there be a loose connector that affects both cruise control and the door switches?

Also my fuel gauge is showing empty, already had the sender unit out, cleaned it, and confirmed that it works, behind the instrument cluster it reads 58 ohms, and I noticed that by moving the instrument cluster it sometimes shows the fuel level correctly. I'm trying to fix the connections at the moment.

Also back seat lights and trunk lights don't work, but they are nothing I need to fix right now.

Thanks for your time and help.

After adding grounding wire from instrument panel to car body, cruise control has now started working.

Well it works, something is not right there though. Unless it retrofit.

Well, you clearly have grounding problems. There are quite a few factory grounding points, it would be a good idea to check them all. I remember having a document somewhere listing all of them if you're interested.

According to the wiring diagram there should be two grounding points near the instrument cluster, but I found only one. The other one has driver and passenger door contacts grounding, so I guess the problem lies there... But can't find it
