Clutch issue on D4 Manual
Hello
Has anybody had this experience in a D4 manual XC60? 2 days ago I got in car, turned on engine, engaged clutch but couldn’t get it out gear (where it had been left due to parking on a hill). Clutch was sticking at full depression and then popping up. Finally managed to force it out of second gear but couldn’t get it into gear. Garage on the phone thought it was slave cylinder or failed Clutch. Today I got in it and it was fine- about 10 Degrees warmer too. Any ideas? Is it likely to do it again? Is this the end of the clutch?! Thoughts welcome or previous experiences! |

2 posts regarding manual XC60s in the last couple of days with the same issue. It appears this recent cold spell is causing the selector or the cables to freeze up or stick. One member had contacted a Volvo dealer and they offered no help. Could be worth adding some lubricant like WD40 to the selector and cables??

Not unheard of problem on post 2013 manuals, clutch slave cylinder failure.

Would it work again?!
Thanks…could it work again and then not work another day?! Never had one go - I am now old enough to remember sitting at the clutch pedal on a 340 with a spanner to adjust the clutch cable! 😂
