v70 aux for ipod
I'm about to purchase an 08 V70. D5 SE sport, but I've been out on a test drive today and couldn't find the usual 3.5mm port for the ipod. The seller is over 70 and didn't know what I was on about. Its a lovely car, stunning condition, 18,000 on the clock for £10k but I really need a aux and it might just blow the deal if there isn't one.

Will defo have one, its just the actual Ipod plug for full integration that is optional. And to be honest thats just good for charging as you can only skip tracks really.

thanks chaps, I did have a good dig around in there and didn't see anything, I read somewhere that it was an optional extra (hard to believe) and I thought maybe the lady owner hadn't spec'ed it. Is £10k for a 08 V70 SE sport D5 a good deal by the way?

If the car is in good condition, that price seems very fair to me. We just paid £11.6k for a mint 59 plate 2.0d V70 SE @39k with the family pack, metallic paint, service, MOT, four new tyres and a 6 months warranty. The D5 engine always commands more money (rightly so). As long as there's no snags with it.

You can get around the ipod connectivity problem with some aftermarket kit.
I recently fitted a Parrot Mki9100 to my 2008 V70. It offers bluetooth audio (inc phone), ipod lead, aux lead and a usb connection which is where I plug in a small drive and play music from that. Needed an extension cable due to the distance involved and the location of the amp under the drivers seat. I also have a 2nd kit (without the extension) to be fitted soon to the wife's C30. Need to be clever with cable routing etc but worth it in the end. |

Exactly same place on my MY09 XC70..... so it looks like if you have one that's where it will be.

When I bought my V70 (about 1 year old) I had the Volvo Ipod kit fitted. Cost quite a lot but Ipod works through steering wheel controls and display shows name of track being played, lists playlists, artists etc. It also keeps it on permanent charge.
If you plan to keep the car a long time I thinks its worth the money. Pity it won't transfer to a new car |
