Default 240 Insurance

Hey all,

You might remember that I posted a while back on myself wanting to buy a 240 Saloon as my first car. I dont know if anybody would help me but wat is the insurance level/grade for a 2.0 240 Saloon, 9, 10 ??
And anybody know what it would be like for a 17 yr old living in the country.

Thanks for any help you can give me guys

Insurance cost depends on so many variables that I think your best bet is just need to phone a couple of brokers and get a quote.

I'm not sure whether we're allowed to use this forum for recommednations but I have a good broker and if you email me I'll pass on contact details.

Insurers and brokers vary enormously, and apparently quite erratically. They can give a good quote one day, you recommend them to a friend, and the next day they quote something different.
1) shop around. Quotes can vary by hundreds of pounds. (Mine, full NCB, high mileage, living in the sticks, varied between £179 and £420)
2) try the instant on-line sites. You can provisionally reserve the quote and they hold it for a month.
3) IME Tesco are spectacularly cheaper than anywhere else. But that is only me - each case varies.
4) Don't believe that brokers will do all the hunting around for you. They have their margins to make, they are lazy, and I have always managed to beat brokers' quotes by going direct to the insurance conmpanies.
