Default £70 tune box installed

So today I decided to install a £70 ebay tune box. It has 8 settings. I started on the 3rd setting as advised but there wasn't much difference in felt. I then tried every setting until I got to the 8th. My d5 185bhp now rockets down the motorway. It pulls so hard in every gear. There's no warning lights or message come up yet so hopefully it stays this way. Or has anyone had any problems with these before after a while?

If its like the one I had, it will connect into fuel rail sensor. Mine was a DTUK unit and it knocked over a second off 0 - 60 time and gave a lot more grunt. Once tried it on the max setting but that was just a bit too much to handle. It's a proper microprocessor controlled unit not just a resistor in a box.

It really isnt.
What happens is it alters the pressure in the high pressure rail.
By fooling the sensor into thinking it needs to up the pressure.
Effectively upping the volume of diesel injected by a degree of whats put in normally.
They work well and easily removed which is handy.

Yes it plugs into the fuel rail. My average mpg is better according to the digital counter. I can't believe the amount of power it's producing lol. There's no smoke or nothing when I floor it. I also put an induction kit on as an experiment. Wether this makes a difference or not I do not know ha. I gave my 79 year old dad a go in it and he got such a fright 😂

That's because the box is lying to the ECM about fuel pressure so calculate the fuel usage properly and it won't be quite as exciting.

More speed, more power..... but less fuel?
Come on.

Yes, similar effect to putting on bigger injectors and not telling the ECU (common mod on my Skoda - VW T5 injectors). It measures X and squirts out X*Y.

As this is certainly something to tell the insurance, how much is it roughly going to add, is just hearing the phrase modified enough to get them rubbing their hands?
