Information
  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

just bought s40 se 1998cc diesel on a 05 plate engine number in logbook is 4000694
do i have the D3 or D4 engine ?
Is that a 4 or 5 cylinder?
Is it a ford modeo or ford focus engine ?

D3 and D4 will both be 4 cylinder units, probably used in both the focus and mondeo.

Being an 05 plate, i think it will be the older generation '2.0D' engine you have, again used in the focus and mondeo but not badged as a D3 or D4.

His engine will be the 2.0D 136BHP as you say which is a 4 cylinder engine which was used in both the Focus and Mondeo....

That explains why I was having problems catching up a D3 badged S40 a while back then.... I was under the impression a D3 was a rebadged 1.6D ??

EDIT:

Seems the D2 is a 1.6 4-cyl, D3 and D4 both 2.0 5-cyls with different maps respectively.
