PCV 5/8 Heater host Kinks
Hi All
Was trying to fit a 5/8 (16mm) heater hose on the breather box, but when you put the manifold on the hose kinks quite badly. Not sure how this guy managed to do the same thing without any problems. Thanks

Copper 90 degree or street elbow should also do it (you can extend the spigot with 15mm pipe if required)
Trust it helps Bob. |

My hose must have been more rigid as I never had that problem.
I did buy the 90 degree plastic fittings just in case but didn't need them. The hose was a pig to fit under the intake manifold, but after a lot of swearing it went on - without any kinking or pinching issues.

Hi:~
The first link is for push fit plumbing and for this application the fitting is quite bulky, oil may also effect the same. The second link is for copper and I would use these- pictures attached. A street elbow has an extended spigot, the opposite end may need a short length of pipe soldered into place- these fittings are end feed for copper or have an incorporated solder ring. I've used the above on classic car heater hose and the 15mm pipe is a tight fit into the hose- the fitting itself (socket) is too larger for the hose. Either of the bends shown will work. The local plumbers merchant may have long spigot bends ie already formed-save soldering. Your new hose should be oil resistant quality. Hope it helps. Regards Bob.
