Spare Wheel

Have had this posted on the S40 forum but had no response.

At the moment my Volvo is a S40 D5 56 plate 2006
I am about to change to change to a V40 this years model.
My question is will the temp. spare wheel from the S40
fit the V40 and what about the jack.

you buy kit from dealler it supports wheel.jack etc and you get new flooring as well looks good

What I really need to know is can I use the temper Spare Wheel and Jack from my 2006 S 40 on the V 40 2015 that I getting next week.

Tempa spare wheel in the boot of my V40 is
115/90 R16

It came with all the bits to fit it into the boot and tools required to change etc.

Don't know what size your wheel is, also number of bolt holes etc

The spare that I have is
125 / 85 R 16

The wheels fitted on S40 car are 205 / 50 R 17

The V40 i'm getting has 225 / 45 R 17
All 5 bold hole

im not sure to be honest but i dont see why not ,,before trading in take your spare wheel out same with jack etc

I have recently bought a '14 reg V40 D2 which is fitted with 205 50 R17 tyres but I noticed today that the tempaspare is a 115 90 R16. Out of interest when I first noticed the R17 vs R16 discrepancy, I measured the the tyrel O/D's. The temp is 1 inch smaller O/D.
Question; Do I have the correct spare size? Would running this smaller diameter wheel with the other three larger diameters be a problem?
I'm confused! Any info would be appreciated.

The temper spare wheel is only intended for temporary use to get you safely to a tyre fitter and there is a speed restriction when using the spare.

If you follow these rules, it will be perfectly OK.

can't remembers the why's other reasons behind it. main thing is it does the job

The spare in an S40, going off a 59 reg is 125 85 16 and the spare for the V40 is 115 90 16. My understanding is the spare for the new V40 is the same for 16 and 17 inch wheels. 5 stud fittings.

Further I understand a genuine Volvo spare tempa wheel for new V40 is knocking £500..!!

End of the day, best check with the dealer.

Regards driving on a temporary spare wheel...has any one ever tried it? All I can say is no wonder there is a low speed warning stuck on them as so easy to lift a wheel going round a corner at moderate speed...!!

We have no choice though....it is either tiddly wheel or gunk.

Edit:- For info, tempa spare on older s40 (up to 2004) is 125 90 15 (got the spare in my kitchen...but can't remember the actual tyre size on the car as the car is not at my house but I think it runs 15 inch tyres) and tempa spare on new XC60 is 125 80 17....even though XC60 is running 235 60 18 as standard
