Default Auto door unlock

Is there a setting that enables the auto unlocking of all doors when the driver's door is opened?

It's not a a major issue but is somewhat annoying when, in an almighty downpour, having got out of car, made way to the back to get umbrella, I discover the boot is still locked - as are all of the other doors. So, back round to the drivers door to press the unlock button and back to the boot. In the meantime I get well soaked.

I'm aware I could, as an alternative, use the key fob. End result much of a muchness time wise really. Would still have got soaked.

I'm aware I could solve the issue by cancelling the auto locking when car is moving but I'd rather keep that activated.

err just press the unlock button on the drivers door arm rest / door pull before you get out , nothing can be easier :-) ..

No Clan, I get what the Op is saying.
I too find it annoying.

I have the auto lock as I drive away, and do the same dance around the car when getting out and needing the boot opening etc..

Annoying, but I can't find a way around it. :/

Oh yes, something COULD be easier. But I won't degrade myself or the spirit of this forum by alluding to what that might be.
I'm new here and hoped that this forum might be free of idiots such as you. But, sadly it's not.

Exactly, you are new here. Comments like that are not welcome on this forum.
Clans point is certainly valid.

There is no system to automatically - so either don't lock the doors whilst driving or so if you wish your doors to be locked whilst driving then you will need to get into a routine of pressing the unlock button before getting out the car.

Car jacking is a particular problem especially in the Home Counties.......

Personally I prefer to disable auto lock to get around this issue, unless car jacking and people stealing from the boot of my car in transit becomes a problem.

Ah. So patronising, discourteous comment such as Clan's is welcome.

Hi
My V50 is exactly the same. I just use the auto lock because it "feels" safer. When I get out I just press the unlock button. It is absolutely no hassle. Plus I feel happier that all the locks operate every time. There have been quite a few issues on here of locks failing(I feel that some of the issues are caused by lack of use of the lock solenoids)
I also automatically press the unlock if someone is about to get out, just saves them double pulling the catch.
I didn't see Clan's comment as discourteous or patronising just showing a work round that a lot of people use. But calling someone an idiot for giving a quick answer does seem discourteous.

My original post makes clear that I'm aware of the manual unlocking button procedure - what you refer to as "a work round that a lot of people use".
What I was asking was: is there an option to autolock? That's all.
I wasn't expecting a response that commences with "err" (the implication is obvious) and terminates with "what can be easier" (patronising!)
Anyway, it's not worth further input on this subject. I have the answer.

BTW. Thanks to Chiptivo. He/she understands precisely.

Minng, it's a forum sometimes replies will come across as curt and patronising, sometimes they will be other times they are meant as read.

I deactivated mine, as a safety point of view I prefer my doors unlocked just in case something terrible happens one day, which did happen to me once when a car I was passenger in was involved in a head on collision and we ended up on our roof, I was the only unhurt passenger but do remember the distress and panic trying to open doors that were locked automatically. So yeah for me I see no need to cocoon ourselves in our metal shells more than we have to unless such crimes are a common occurance in the area you commute through.

I would hope the Volvo unlocks in a collision, but I guess you have to weigh up your circumstances against what's more likely aggrivated car theft or an accident.
