Alarm
XC90 11 model year - pesky alarm goes off intermittently for no physical reason.
I’ve plugged VIDA in and no error codes. Would a dodgy alarm battery show up in VIDA? I know a failing alarm battery can trigger the alarm. How sensitive would the interior sensors be to flying critters or spiders etc? Thanks.

Spiders are problematic until you get rid of the pesky critters, but I also found Apple devices left in the car can also cause havoc .... phones, tablets esp if they are on sleep/hibernation why Apple .... ... who knows, but similar Samsung and Lenovo devices didn't cause the problem.

Vida should tell you which sensor triggered the alarm. I had a similar issue and it was always mass movement sensor. I read on here somewhere about coins or shiny things in the cup holder area being responsible for triggering the alarm, not sure if this is coincidence but since shutting the flappy door thingy or just keeping that area clear it seems to have stopped the random triggering of the mass movement sensor.
Perhaps it has something to do with the reflectivity of whatever is in there interfering with the sensor light beam. Or perhaps I'm just talking out of my arse because I don't understand how it works and my mass movement sensor has finally given up and that's why it no longer randomly triggers 🤔 |
