Well it was a toss up between the XC70 and the XC60 and the XC60 won on interior. Have to see what the new XC60 is like. There are advantages though to keeping the weight low down provided there is enough ground clearance. It has en extra 60 mm more than the V90. Also has special new tyres. The XC70 has always been the more popular one in Sweden. It's just the seven seats I don't want on the XC90.

I see the 90 series vehicles are all being built on the same production lines in Sweden.

I can only go by the Manual, which indicates the Cargo Area fuse box is on the right hand side.

There's something in there.

Actually tem re reading the posts I'm not sure what car you are talking about. I'm talking about the XC60 but maybe you are talking about the XC90?

Are you sure that is taken from the V90?
Reason that I ask, I cannot see a removable cover on the S90 or V90, plus your picture does not show any anchor points displayed.

You mentioned the S90 and then the V90 and I have followed on from this.
Yes, I am talking about the V90, have now been waiting for over 5 months, to get my hands on one.

Sorry got side tracked there. This is the only interior shot of the boot area I have for what it's worth.

As I remember the measurement in the back of most Volvos is about 44" between the wheel arches. That was the measurement of the XC90. Maybe the XC70 is a bit bigger though? I'll measure the XC60 tomorrow.

Roy
The old XC90 WAS 48" wide in the back, I carried 48" wide chip board sheets in mine, my new one can only get 44" wide items in.

£30 road tax and 64.2 mpg for the D4 version. Taxation will change in the spring of course.

I'm looking forward to seeing the new V90 Cross Country which I understand will use the same components as the XC90.

Roy
Have you sat in the new S90, the rear headroom is very low the XC90 has more front and rear leg, shoulder and head room than the S90 and has 7 seats, there are a few mm diference in exterior length and width dimensions and the XC90 is far higher with much better interior comfort size wise and a bigger load area, only thing that lets the XC90 down is road noise from air suspension and wide tyres when on 20" wheels, I dont know if S90 and V90 will be any better.

The new 90 series are bigger cars, but the widest point in the cargo area is very disappointing.

I took a standard pallet to the tip in the new xc90 without lowering 2nd row. Never thought it would fit.
A big John Lewis cot bed didn't fit for height and had to be disassembled.
Cart golf bag has to go in diagonally with 44.5in driver unless you take out the woods. But diagonally it disappears without a trace. 2more in and it would fit across.
It's big enough in absolute terms but like for like to old models it may appear inferior. I would argue that old models Volvos compete with fords not with new model volvos and premium makes so not really comparable.
