what size pads?

hello

im looking at changing front brake discs and pads out. ive been informed there are two sizes and as postage is costing me £16 for these dont want to mess it up..

Ive got a V reg S40 SE

EDIT - I just spotted car info, for s40 front pads there is only 1 size after 1997, volvo part number is currently 30769199, retail price is £52.22, we sell them for £36.55 inc vat, plus £4.20 royal mail parcel force and i have them on the shelf.

sorry but i had my blinkers on when i read your post, i missed the point that you also wanted front disks entirely. i thought you only wanted pads,

To answer your question, basically all S and V40's, from MY 1998 on (uo to 2004) only had the one size. I couldn't tell you what that size is off the top of my head as i have never had to measure but i assure you theres no other options for a 2000 model vehicle.

is the £79 each or a pair for the discs...? thanks Reason i ask is been quoted £100 each from Quickfit, yet on Ebay i can buy discs and pads all round for that nearly!! (I know itas about qulity etc..but im on a budget £100 a throw is way off the mark! )

I didnt realise how these non genuine companies are ripping you off these days , often more than the cost at the dealer ! £16 postage !
Just take simons deal you wont get a better one or better quality anywhere ..

Go to or phone local motor factors and get prices then go to your Volvo dealer and get a price from them, tell them you have price's from other local suppliers and see if they will compete . My local one will. Buying Via internet suppliers and the parts may be cheaper but when you add on P&P they may be more expensive. Volvo dealer will probably have no stock but they will probably get them same day and they are original Volvo even if they are made in China/ india as my 940 discs and pads were.

agreed postage is £6 more but they are Mintex? surely these are really good quality? i can buy cheap ones on Ebay again for about £50 a pair..Im looking for quality at the rigtht price..arent we all..

I have allready given him prices for genuine volvo parts above, both retail prices and my prices.

My price above was the total price for a pair of disks, and in the post above that was the price for the complete set of front pads.

From us at FRF it comes to a total price of £125.54 all in, thats including postage too. (retail price would be £166.48 plus postage if required, so a saving of 25% off retail price even after postage for genuine volvo parts, your not going to get much better than that, let me know if you do!)
